All To The Glory of God

About us

 VISION STATEMENT
We the members of River Rock Baptist Church, are a body of believers who worship God, share Jesus Christ, and disciple believers, sending them out to ministry. We envision faithfully serving our lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the community we reside in by developing, sustaining, and serving as a Bible centered, evangelically motivated, and exceptionally friendly church as a beacon to the community.

CORE VALUES
River Rock Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church that strongly believes in and will consistently strive for:

1. Bible-based Preaching, Teaching and Ministry
We value the scriptures as our ultimate authority in all matter of doctrine and operating principles.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

2. Steadfast Prayer
We value individual, small group, and corporate prayer opportunities that seek God's intervention, revelation, and guidance in all activities and ministries, and in the lives of individuals.

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16)

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving" (Colossians 4:2)

3. Comprehensive Discipleship
We value Bible study and ministry-equipping opportunities designed to encourage and challenge individual growth leading to corporate service.

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers: For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they line in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." (Ephesians 4:11-16)

"...be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy 2:1-2)

4. Intentional Evangelism
We value ministries and activities that have as their ultimate goal the work-ship of God the Father exalting the name of Jesus Christ and drawing persons to salvation through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, believing that we can impact our community and the world for Christ.

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20)

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is com upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8)

5. Servant Leadership
We value empowered, accountable, Spirit-filled leaders who embody the "attitude of Christ".

"But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve" (Luke 22:26)

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5)

6. Unified Fellowship
We value a loving, sharing, giving body of believers who demonstrate unity in doctrine and love in all matters.

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." (Acts 2:42-47)

"With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forebearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." (Ephesians 4:2-3)

7. Joyful, Transforming Worship
We value Holy Spirit led praise and worship that exalts and honors God and provides the opportunity for a transforming encounter with Him.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy in everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." (Psalm 100)

8. Faithful Stewardship
We value concerted efforts to use the resources provided by God (facilities, finances, people) in accordance with his will.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10)

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. (I Corinthians 4:2)

9. Effective Communication
We value consistent effort for clear and effective communication among and between staff, ministry teams, and the Church Body.

"A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health." (Proverbs 13:17)

10. Commitment to Excellence
We value giving God our best in everything we do.

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23-24)

11. Cultural Relevance
We value strategies designed to communicate the gospel to any culture in which we are called to minister.

"For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without the law, as without the law (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you." (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)

"Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all." (Colossians 3:11)
